What N.O.W. Really Means

The Now Step® uses a simple three-part check-in rooted in CBT principles because your thoughts, feelings, and behaviours are directly linked. Here’s how you step into the now:

Notice

What am I feeling right now?

Stop and tune into your emotional radar right now. Name what you're actually feeling, not what you think you should feel, but what's really there.

Observe

What am I thinking right now?

Step back and watch your mental movie as it plays. Catch those thoughts running through your head like you're observing them from the balcony of your mind.

Witness

What am I doing (or avoiding) right now? Take an honest look at your current actions and non-actions. Notice what you're actively doing and what you're sneakily avoiding, both count.
